“It’s never a good idea to discuss religion or politics with people you don’t really know.” Agree or disagree?
You should know that religious and political views can be part of a deep belief system. Discussing issues that are part of a belief system can have very heated results. Results spread as wide as just hurt feelings to an onslaught of condemnations at you because you’re obviously disturbed to have an opinion like that. We all have made our choices as to what we believe and hold close. Many of those choices were shaped in whole or in part by those around us. Family members, friends and colleagues, each of whom we’ve taken some or all of our way of thinking. What I am saying is, the deeper the belief is, the more likely it is also tainted with others beliefs.

When you challenge someone’s belief system, it is perceived as a person attack on them, and not received well. So, no it’s never a good idea to discuss religion or politics with people you don’t really know.
